Salvation - Come unto Me "all you who labor" ..
The ABC's of Salvation
A. Admit you have sinned
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." (1 John 1:8)
B. Believe in the Saving Blood of Jesus Christ
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
C. Confess and tell Jesus you want to turn away from your sin.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9)
SALVATION IS SIMPLE AND FREE
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." -Ephesians 2:8-9
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone. Confess Jesus is Lord and believe and trust in Him.
It is only by God's grace (His FREE gift) that we are saved. Humble yourself, repent, and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Repent means to turn away from your sin and agree with God that you are a sinner. Faith in Jesus Christ means trusting in Him alone for your salvation and making Him the Lord of your life.
Now is the day of salvation. You are not guaranteed tomorrow. Eternity is forever. Don't wait to decide on your eternity.
GOD LOVES YOU
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us" -Romans 5:8
There are many misconceptions about the God of the Bible, but the truth is that HE LOVES YOU. He wants to have a relationship with you. God doesn't want anyone to go to hell, but desires that all people-including you-would be with Him in Heaven. Why?
It's worth repeating, because He loves you and wants a relationship with you-plain and simple.
So why did Christ have to die for us? He had to die because our sin makes it impossible for us to be with God.
GOD IS HOLY AND JUST
"...it is appointed for men to die once, but after this judgment,..." -Hebrews 9:27.
If, on the day you die, God judges you by the Ten Commandments, would you be innocent or guilty? Just be honest with yourself; you will be guilty and God will separate Himself from guilty sinners.
Yes, God is a loving God, but He is also holy and just. He is a just judge. Sin is so serious an offense to God that He cannot allow it into Heaven nor will He allow it to go unpunished.
Would not a judge who allowed a criminal to go free be a corrupt judge? God is not corrupt. He is perfectly righteous, holy, and just. There are only two options for our eternal souls: HEAVEN OR HELL. Jesus is the only way to Heaven.
AM I GOOD ENOUGH TO GET TO HEAVEN?
"..for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." -Romans 3:23
God gave us the Ten Commandments ( part of His law from Exodus 20) to show us that we are all sinners. Sin is breaking God's law.
Take the "good person" test to find out if you are good enough to get to Heaven. Take a moment and make sure-eternity is FOREVER, after all:
The Bible says if you break only one of the commandments, you are guilty of breaking them ALL (James2:10) .You see, nobody is good enough to get to heaven.
JESUS PAID IT ALL
JESUS WAS PUNISHED TO BRING YOU ETERNAL PEACE WITH GOD
The Bible says, "...having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him" Romans 5:9. Without Jesus, God's wrath abides on you. Jesus took the punishment for you sins so that you can be at peace with God and live with Him for all eternity.
Then He died and your debt was paid in FULL. Jesus did not deserve this punishment, this was our punishment. Jesus was without sin, He was innocent. His inoocent blood was washed the day He died on the cross.
Jesus, as both God and man, is the only one qualified to pay the penalty for your sins. Jesus says,
" I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6.
Death could not hold HIm and He rose fromt he dead three days later proving that God accepted His sacrifice, proving that Jesus is God and proving that only Jesus' sacriffice can save you form your sins.
Blood is required for the remission of sins. Your blood, or His? Jesus shed His blood to pay your fine but only if you receive His free gift of salvation.
